Students may purchase recordings of lessons conducted before enrolment at $45 per lesson. This allows them to catch up one arlier concepts and lesson content at their own pace.
It is usually not too late to start, but the best approach depends on your child’s current level and how much of our curriculum has already been covered. Students joining after the programme has begun may purchase recordings of earlier lessons at $45 per lesson to catch up on important concepts and lesson content. We will advise parents on a suitable starting point rather than expecting the child to catch up blindly. The earlier learning gaps are identified and addressed, the more time the student has to build confidence before examinations.

He has more than 12 years of full-time Science teaching experience, including setting and marking examination papers.

Students should:
  • Complete theassigned work.

Progress is monitored through:

  • Mocktestsand practice papers.
  • Active-recall activities and class participation.
  • Periodic evaluations and feedback to parents
Progress depends on the student’s starting point, attendance, effort, homework completion and response to feedback. Many students begin to improve after a few months of consistent learning, but lasting progress requires regular practice rather than an overnight change
Aweakresult does not always mean that a child simply “does not know Science”. We first look at where marks are being lost. Common areas include:
  • Weakconceptual understanding.
  • Difficulty applying concepts to unfamiliar situations.
  • Poorinterpretation of diagrams, experimental setups or data.
  • Incomplete cause-and-effect reasoning.
  • Weakopen-ended answering techniques.
  • Recurring careless or examination-technique mistakes.
Our lessons address these areas through systematic concept teaching, application practice, examination techniques, homework and detailed feedback. Improvement also requires consistent attendance, practice, homeworkcompletion and action on feedback. We do not promise a particular grade or overnight improvement
Wedonotclaim topredict or “spot” the exact questions that will appear in PSLE Science. Instead, we prepare students for the underlying concepts, process skills, question structures and application demands that may be tested in unfamiliar situations. Mr Daniel Tay’s experience as a former PSLE Science marker helps students understand how answers are assessed and what constitutes clear, scientifically precise reasoning. Examination preparation should be based on mastery rather than gambling on predicted questions
What happens if my child misses a lesson?

The book helps students understand examiner expectations and answer Science questions with greater precision. It may be purchased from POPULAR bookstores, the CPD Singapore website and Shopee, subject to availability.

Our regular tuition notes and lesson materials are designed to be used together with Mr Daniel Tay’s teaching and are therefore primarily provided to enrolled Bestminds Academy students. We do not generally sell the complete tuition notes as a standalone product. Parents looking for independent learning resources
mayconsider Mr Daniel Tay’s published book, selected crash courses or other learning resources made available by the academy.

They serve different purposes and are not direct duplicates. “Examiner Secrets: How to Consistently Score AL1 for Science” is a standalone resource that focuses on examination thinking, answering techniques, commonmistakes and examiner expectations. Bestminds Academy tuition materials form part of our structured weekly curriculum and contain topic-specific teaching content, application questions, examination practice and lesson activities taught progressively during classes. There may naturally be some overlap in important Science principles and examination techniques, but the tuition materials are more closely integrated with the weekly lesson programme.

Where more intensive individual support is
required, parents may enquire about private one-to-one tuition, subject to availability

Yes. Enrolled students may send Science-related questions arising from their Bestminds lessons, homework or assigned practice through the designated support channel. Questions should be specific and, where appropriate, accompanied by the student’s attempted working or answer so that meaningful guidance can be

  • Respectful student behaviour.Onlinesafety.
  • Student well-being.
  • Appropriate teacher-student interaction.
  • Ourgoal is for every student to feel safe, respected and ready to learn
