Bestminds Academy is conveniently located at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, which is located beside Beauty World MRT Station. For those who prefer learning from home, we also offer online classes that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

 

  1. How do I know if my child needs science tuition?

If your child is struggling with understanding science concepts, finding it difficult to keep up with school homework, or aiming to achieve higher grades, science tuition could be beneficial. We recommend discussing with your child’s teacher to assess their current performance and determine if additional support is needed.

 

  1. How much does our science tuition cost?

The cost of our science tuition varies depending on level.

$240 (for 4 lessons) for P3 and P4.

$300 (for 4 lessons) for P5 and P6

 

  1. Are trial lessons available?

No, we do not offer free trial lessons. However, after payment of the first month of fees, and in the unlikely event that the student finds the lesson not suitable, no withdrawal notice period is required. Material fees are not refundable.

 

  1. What are your class sizes for online & in-person lessons?

We typically have a maximum of 12 students per class. Private 1-1 lessons are also available.

 

  1. Do you offer any additional support to parents & students?

Absolutely! We provide regular updates on your child’s progress and offer guidance on how you can support their learning at home. Additionally, we offer resources via our Telegram group.

Our science tuition programs are designed for primary 3 to primary 6 students only.

Our Principal Tutor, Mr. Daniel Tay is an ex-MOE school teacher and ex-marker of PSLE science papers. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Degree in Biological Science and has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. He is highly qualified with over 10 years full-time experience in teaching science, including setting and marking of science exam papers.

For most classes, we provide all necessary materials and resources, including notes, worksheets and practice papers. For online lessons, students will need a computer or tablet with good internet access. Specific requirements like which software to download for online lessons will be communicated before the classes begin.

 

  1. How do you assess student progress?

We assess student progress through Kahoot quizzes, assignments, and mock tests. Additionally, we provide feedback and conduct periodic evaluations to track improvement and identify areas that need further attention.

 

  1. What if my child misses a class?

If your child misses an online class, the video recording of the class will be available for 1 month. If a student misses an in-person class, he or she may join any online class for make-up or watch the video recording within the same week.

 

  1. Can parents observe the classes?

Yes, we encourage parental involvement. Parents can observe online classes or attend special parent observation days for in-person lessons. This helps you stay informed about your child’s learning experience and progress.

We offer private tuition to accommodate different learning preferences. Private tuition offers personalized, one-on-one instruction at $240 per hour. You may choose this option if it best suits your child’s needs.

 

  1. What is the duration of each class?

Each class typically lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. However, the lesson timing might be extended accordingly to the student’s needs. 

 

  1. Are your classes aligned with the Singapore syllabus curriculum?

Yes, our classes are designed to align with the latest Singapore syllabus curriculum and educational standards. We ensure that our content and teaching methods support what students are learning in their regular school curriculum.

 

  1. Can my child switch between online and in-person classes?

Online students can transfer to in-person lessons by paying the difference in fees. In-person classes can be switched to online classes at no additional charge. Please notify us in advance if you wish to make any changes to your child’s class modality.

 

  1. What technology or software is required for online classes?

Any child in Primary 3 and 4 can join. For Pri 5 and 6, the child needs to be taking Standard Level Science in school.
